Each team will receive a three (3) game guarantee

Rules of Play

The official rules will be the National Federation High School (NFHS) rules for the current year, except where modified by the AAU Boys’ and Girls Basketball Rule Book.

Player Roster

Rosters must be submitted before playing first game.

Grade Determination

For teams that have chosen to organize on the basis of the athletes grade, and who have players who do not meet the age eligibility criteria for age based teams, the AAU provides grade based competition as follows:

3rd Grade – An athlete must be in the 3rd grade or below as of October 1, 2023 and can be no older than 10 on August 31, 2024

4th Grade – An athlete must be in the 4th grade or below as of October 1, 2023 and can be no older than 11 on August 31, 2024

5th Grade – An athlete must be in the 5th grade or below as of October 1, 2023 and can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2024

6th Grade – An athlete must be in the 6th grade or below as of October 1, 2023 and can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2024

7th Grade – An athlete must be in the 7th grade or below as of October 1, 2023 and can be no older than 14 on August 31, 2024

8th Grade – An athlete must be in the 8th grade or below as of October 1, 2023 and can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2024

9th Grade Division – An athlete who is in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2023 and who is no older than 16 on August 31, 2024 is eligible to play in the 9th grade division.

10th Grade Division – An athlete who is in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2023 and who is no older than 17 on August 31, 2024 is eligible to play in the 10th grade division.

11th Grade Division – An athlete who is in the 11th grade as of October 1, 2023 and who is no older than 18 on August 31, 2024 is eligible to play in the 11th grade division.

Membership Criteria

All players must show their current AAU membership card and have a copy of a legal BIRTH CERTIFICATE available if requested.

Uniforms

Teams must have light and dark jerseys

Awards

AAU medals and trophies will be awarded to the first (1) and (2) place teams.

Play Starts

Play starts at 5pm on 5/16/25. Arrangements will be made for teams traveling more than 100 miles (if requested).

Check in for each team will be conducted prior to the start of the team’s first game at the site of the team’s first game.

In order for a smooth registration process it is recommended that you arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of your first game.

Each team will be required to bring copies of AAU cards (including coaches) and (if requested) a copy of a legal birth certificate.

Competition Rules

The official rules will be the National Federation High School (NFHS) rules for the current year, except where modified by the AAU Boys’ Basketball Rule Book.

Uniforms
a. 1. Players’ jerseys must have numbers on both the front and back.
2. Numbers can be 0, 00-99.
3. Minimum size of numbers shall be 2″ on the front and 4″ on the back.
4. Teams competing in National Championship tournaments must have Light and Dark jerseys.
5. Home wears Light jerseys and Visitor wears Dark jerseys.
6. The top/left team on the schedule shall be the home team and sit on the scorekeepers’ left.
7. The bottom/right team on the schedule shall be the visiting team and sit on the scorekeepers’ right.
8. Violations of Section G shall be penalized by a two (2) shot administrative technical foul for each illegal jersey. The penalty will be assessed at the time the player with the illegal jersey enters the game.
